Important Information

How long do I get the ram for?

When you hire one of my rams you get him for a minimum of 6 weeks so he is with your ewes for 2 cycles.

What is required when he is dropped off?

When I drop him off the paddock must be easily accessible by car and trailer. I will pull into the paddock and let him off the trailer with your ewes.

Your fences and gates must be in good condition so he remains secure on your property while he is in your care.

What is required when he is picked up?

The ram has to be ready in a set of yards or a secure pen with at least a couple of ewes.

Sheep don't like to be by themselves, particularly rams. If he is left alone in a set of yards there is a good chance he will injure himself trying to get back to the flock.

A loading ramp isn't necessary. As long as the yards or secure pen is easily accessible by car and a trailer.

If you are using a secure pen, it must be something that you have used previously and can easily get your sheep into.

When do ewes start ovulating?

The natural breeding season for ewes generally lasts from about February to June. During this time, a ewe will get in heat and ovulate roughly every 16 days.

When is payment required?

Payment is required to book your ram hire.

There is a limited availability so booking well in advance is advisable if you would like to rent a specific ram.
